The International Foundation Forum of Slavic Cultures has been participating at the Russian Federation’s biggest cultural event for a number of years. At the 6th International Cultural Forum in St. Petersburg Ms Andreja Rihter presented the formation of a new cultural route and spoke at the annual meeting of the Union of Russian Museums, where she presented an example of good practice – Živa, award for the best Slavic museum.
This year saw the sixth edition of the International Cultural Forum in St. Petersburg. The Russian Federation’s premier cultural event brings together Russian artists and culture workers as well as world-acclaimed professionals and artists in the fields of music, theatre, museology, cultural tourism, education, literature, dance and more.
At the meeting of Coordination Unions for Culture and Tourism of Russian regions, which took place in the framework of the Tourism section, Ms Andreja Rihter, Director of the Forum of Slavic Cultures, presented the formation of the new European cultural route Hear the Slavic Word. At the annual meeting of the Union of Museums of the Russian Federation Ms Rihter presented the award for the best Slavic museum as an example of good practice in the promotion of Slavic cultural heritage, collaboration and knowledge sharing between museum professionals.
In the framework of her working visit to St. Petersburg she also took the opportunity to meet with ministers of culture from FSC member states. She met with Vladan Vukosavljević, Minister of Culture and Information of the Republic of Serbia, Adil Osmanović, Minister of Civil Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Ivan Sečik, State Secretary at the Ministry of Culture of the Slovak Republic, among others. She also had meetings with representatives of cultural institutions in St. Petersburg, with which the FSC has recently established regular contacts and successful intercultural exchange.
