The 10th International Summer School of Museology brought together more than thirty participants form Slovenia, Italy, Germany, Bulgaria, Russia, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and Croatia. In dialogue with the Živa Award judges from Croatia, Bulgaria, Russia, Montenegro, the Czech Republic, Slovenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Italy, Sweden, Greece, Serbia and Macedonia they followed the fundamental mission of the International Foundation Forum of Slavic Cultures in linking the Slavic cultural milieu and making its presence felt in contemporary global social context.
Led by the central theme of this year’s ICOM General Conference “Museums and Cultural Landscapes” the participants shed some light on the cultural heritage and through the example of good practices, recognized by the “Živa Award for the Best Slavic Museum” judges’ visiting and evaluating the museums, present in particular the importance of management, creative work, storytelling, effective use of sources and openness to the visitor.
The FSC in co-operation with its partners introduced a new approach to the subject and thus attracted not only students but also the professional public from the Slavic as well as Romance and Germanic-speaking worlds.
