A musical treat was prepared by the Forum of Slavic Cultures together with the Public Fund for Cultural Activities of the Republic of Slovenia and the artist in residence Marija Pilipović from Bosnia and Herzegovina under the auspices of the City of Ljubljana.
Marija Tomić Pilipović was born in Zagreb. She studied and graduated in Banja Luka in the class of Professor Laura Levai-Aksin. During her studies at the Academy of Music in Banja Luka she played in the Symphonic Orchestra of Music Academies from Belgrade, Kragujevac and Podgorica and recorded several CDs. She took part in the seminars in Graz, Belgrade, Dubrovnik, Novi Sad and Banja Luka (K. Ačev, D. Fluri, L. Levai-Aksin, E. Furer, I. Kort).
In addition to a series of solo concerts all over Bosnia and Herzegovina she played in many chamber music groups at festivals the Winter of Sarajevo, Days of Vlada S. Mirošević, Mokranjac Days and Festival of Contemporary Music. She worked with a group of artists brought together by the „Studio 6“from Novi Sad, where they organized premiere performances of music by the composers from Vojvodina. Since 2011 she has played the first flute in the Banja Luka Philharmonic.
Out of seven compositions she played at her solo concert at the Ljubljana Town Hall four by composers from Serbia, Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina were performed for the first time.
