The Forum of Slavic Cultures in co-operation with the Slovenian Tourist Board presented the monograph At the Table with the Slavs and a selection from the eponymous exhibition at the Slovenian Evening in the Ritz- Carlton Hotel in Moscow. Slovenia presented itself also with the gastronomy from the above mentioned project.
“The FSC with its basic mission of integration and nerving the creativity of Slavic cultures strengthens the network of partnering institutions in Slovenia and in all 12 FSC member countries,” said Andreja Rihter, MA, Director of the International foundation – Forum of Slavic Cultures and added that this had been how the co-operation between the FSC and the Slovenian Tourist Board had come about. At the Slovenian Evening the FSC presented the first world monograph on Slavic culinary traditions and with a selection from the exhibition At the Table with the Slavs and the dishes chosen by Janez Bogataj convinced Russian tourist public and diplomacy that excellent gastronomy was one more reason for visiting Slovenia.
The Slovenian Evening in Moscow was hosted by Zdravko Počivalšek, Minister of Economic Development and Technology of the Republic of Slovenia and Maja Pak, MA, Director of the Slovenian Tourist Board. In her address the latter pointed out that the event was fore mostly organized for Russian tour operators and tourist agencies, journalists, the representatives of Slovenian tourist sector and other distinguished guests. The presentation focused on Slovenia as the country of healthy waters and opportunities for pampering one’s body and soul as well as Ljubljana, European Green Capital.
Zdravko Počivalšek, Minister of Economic Development and Technology said in his address: “The Russian market presents one of the most important markets for Slovenia since the overnight stays of guests from the Russian federation were on the 4th place in 2014. A number of Russian investors also saw a business opportunity in Slovenian tourism and became important co-creators of our tourist sector.”
